When it comes to the back lower half of the bike this tool has you covered: cut chainstays to bottom bracket, chainstays to dropouts, and even cut miters for those dreaded flat mount bosses with the built in tap-off surfaces for easy positioning. Use this tool to Miter your chainstays. Legend has it every cut turns to gold.

Key Features

The Miters Touch - For Chainstays is jammed packed with chainstay cutting, tire checking, brazing/tackability goodness. This tool will run in both vertical & horizontal mill mode with the clever adapter plate and gives you the option to miter for hooded dropouts, flat mount bosses & the actual bottom bracket. In addition to this you can check tire clearances with the built in scale and tire dummy mount on the Spread’em pointer. Not sure which tire size dummies you need? Well we’ve been working on this spreadsheet here (you’ll need to request access) to provide rim/tire combo sizes and I’ll work on creating open source CAD files (.stl) for those dummies so you can 3D print or laser cut on your own!

In addition to the standard features this tool provides, I’m working on expanding a list of accessories for this tool. Currently, these additional options include:

  • An additional holder accessory for Sputnik Dummy Axles to be used directly with the fixture
  • A horizontal vise block that makes clamping in a vise on a horizontal mill for the BB miter a bit easier.

Installation Information

** Note: While this tool uses the Paragon/FARR Dummy Axle standard, dummy axles are sold separately based on your frame dropout spacing requirements. You can see our offerings here.
